The story goes that the #Koreans are actually just one of the many #Chinese tribes just like how #Mongolians are. One reason usually used is the Koreans call themselves #Han.
I admit, I was also led to believe this "connection" is true, however, it is false!
The #Hangugeo "Han" means a leader. There is no connection whatsoever, etymologically to the Chinese "Han", even though it is written the same way in Hanja and Chinese, respectively.
The Korean "Han" refers to the Three Leaders who rose up after GoGoryeo (ancient Goryeo) ended. These Three Leaders, or Three Hans, kept the "Korean" spirit and identity despite the foreign forces around them.
It does not mean that they were originally Han Chinese. Again, it's similar to my previous posts about words that exist in different languages but have different meanings. Korean "Han" is different from the Chinese "Han".
The ancient Koreans have always been an independent Nation living across what we know today as the Korean peninsula. They were never Chinese, and never one of the many Chinese tribes. The Korean peninsula is theirs and theirs alone. It's their homeland.

China's genocidal occupation of Tibet is of course the ultimate act of violence against #Tibetans.
A final solution after millenia of coexistance, not to mention the treaty of *eternal peace* signed in 822 after Tibetans had had enough and invaded Chang'an, the capital of Tang dynasty.
But, it also an act of grave violence against India, Nepal, Bhutan and Burma. All of these countries have suffered the loss of historic cultural, religious and economic exchanges with a friendly neighbour, only to be replaced by a hostile and military-expansionist Chinese #dictatorship.
The #Uighurs and (South) #Mongolians to the north have suffered that loss too, but they have a singular *far*more immediate worry as like Tibetans they too are marked for eradication by the CCP's Han-nationalist imperial regime.
Ideally the Chinese people themselves would end this nightmare, not only for all the Han peoples but also those repressed neighbours whose fate will forever be a stain on that previously civilized civilization, just like #nazism will remain on #german peoples' record.
Chinese peoples still have a closing window to reverse course before CCP's imperial projects become irreversible...

Even within your own country, you may be unaware of how much history and unknown exists.
The most saddening part is not that we as #Mongolians weren't taught about this history of #Russian military presence in Mongolia, but how the most locals in this location did not know what these old rubbles were.
Or alternatively, imagine if free people in free countries just, you know, *chose* not to do business with genocidal, military-expansionist dictatorships... π€
I know it's a really weird idea, especially if you personally aren't currently being genocided by that particular regime.
The Polish freedom fighters had a word for this odd phenomenom though. They even founded a rather successful labour union named after that concept. Without #solidarity between peoples, would the #soviet #russian #dictatorship have crumbled when it did?
Another thing is that the various #despots and #authoritarians are increasingly networking and joining forces to fight the evils of #democracy and #humanrights globally. Aiding, abetting or doing business with any of them makes all of them more powerful.
