I have likely seen and experienced much, much more than the average person. I'm a bit extreme in many ways.

Never. Never in my whole life have I seen something as humongous as those green arcs act in unison so quickly. There's nothing on Earth which can produce something as incomprehensibly large as those lights in the sky. I am still unable to fully *comprehend* what it takes to have 100+km of *anything* change state within 200 milliseconds or less.

I have seen the #northernlights a few times in my life. Once in #svalbard, but only realizing afterwards when I looked at the photos. And a few times somewhere north of #alaska, #canada, and #greenland. Except for one time, I only saw them as white mist: faint enough that only the black-white recepting rods in my eyes could pick them up. Once, the faintest of greens.

This night, it was a red glow and green arcs.
