"My sympathies for the obsolete are climbing higher every day" - #MuteMath, Break the Fever from their Play Dead album.
Now Playing at Nothing Manor: #MUTEMATH’s Distance EP. I’ve been a fan of Paul Meany’s longrunning project since the single for Typical dropped in 2006 and I purchased their eponymous debut. I was enamored with Darren King’s kinetic drumming throughout their first three albums (Mutemath, Armistice, and Odd Soul), but he left the group in 2017 and Paul went solo. #music #alternativerock https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mutemath
Listened to "Remain" by MuteMath. It's been that kind of evening...
"Just keep on trying
Just keep fighting
Just keep going
Just keep surviving
Just keep walking
Just keep breathing
Just keep holding
Just keep believing
Always the same
Always forever we remain
Always the same
I'm dying just to keep my place"

Man, #Mutemath's #Armistice is such a good album. I really need to find some more complex, interesting, propulsive records.
I love the sonic layering and the chaotic drumming.
These are a couple of my favourite songs to play on repeat. #Mutemath

Yet again, Odesza is my top artist I listened to this past year. Pretty cool that I got short videos from my favorite artists thanking their fans for listening to their music in this year's Spotify Wrapped. Also, I guess I'm a "Vampire" based on my listening preferences. 🤷♂️

Related to my last toot, Darren King, the drummer from #Mutemath, is what you get when you mix a kid banging on sauce pans and that drummer from The Muppets. And I'm here for it.
So where #OKGo has made a career, arguably, of "gimmick" videos (and great songs!), I feel like #Mutemath unfortunately shot their shot way early with their own gimmick video for their song "#Typical"--the whole thing is shot backwards--so you wonder how many folks were expecting them to keep doing that.
In any case, "Typical"'s very catchy, and the energy and execution of the video is a perfect match. Check it.
