#WordWeavers 2026.01.13 — Where was your latest writing session? How did it go
At a very messy desk in my office, full of anime/manga/idol merch.
The session went very well, and a chapter (?月駅 (Kisaragi) キサラギ) is now ready for beta reader #1. (Possibly two chapters if it grows much more.)

This is a tough one. They say witty things, but not much funny happens to them. It's all pretty serious. I'm going to have go to a #FlashFiction to find amusing things.

"What?” Adachi's eyes blinked rapidly. She glanced at her book, still on the title page; read; and froze, a look of horror on her face.

#wordweavers 2026-01-04 Describe an uncomfortable situation a character experiences.
The darkness lifted, replaced by a droning, soot-black fog. It kissed my skin, leaving black marks that stung like a hornet’s bite. The vampire tree had been kinder.

What is the gift your MC brings to the world?
Some good yuri fiction and a plague.

The train doors opened with a hiss, and we stepped inside. Underfoot, cicada corpses crunched. They were scattered around the door like Christmas snow the wind had blown in. The seats were empty except for items passengers might have left behind: a girl’s sailor suit, a briefcase, and an elf’s hat.
I pointed to one of the seats in the front. In it sat a pigeon, pecking at a cicada. Next to it was a Western-style conductor’s hat.
"At least one of them isn't driving," Shishi said.
"I wouldn't be so sure," I replied.

Shishi would have just disappeared. Ume would have hardly any memory of her and would have drifted along until some other woman struck her fancy. Probably not cursed, so it would be a normal Josei Yuri story.

Mikawa only treasures one thing, Shishi.
The Empress treasures neither she cares for honor, duty, power, and revenge. All intangibles.

They are seldom involved in situations where they would sustain physical injury. In the ending section, one of the characters will be seriously wounded and incapacitated.
On the other hand, they have been incapacitated with supernatural illnesses.
I dislike OP characters, and mine have no superpowers, such as "it's only a flesh wound."

An contains the lines:
“It’ll show my secret.” Kan-chan said. Her answer was almost inaudible.
I prepared to say, “You’ll be fine,” when a pinprick of light appeared in the bowl. The glow expanded until we were looking through a hole in a wall. Beyond was someone’s bedroom.

Love answers all problems.
It's messy and dangerous, but if you love someone enough, everything comes out okay in the end.

The dominant smell would be tobacco with three smokers in the house. Next to that would be the smell of good food.

I never write with juvenile characters because of antis and the pedo hysteria in the West. I have counseled and watched too many creatives get branded and burned at the stake. (And I don't mean the rich white dudes and media stars that bribe and blackmail their way out of trouble.)
I don't avoid queer, non-Christian, antifac, anticap, poly, kink, or most other subjects that would get me banned if I were popular enough that anyone noticed.
