There is an inherent imbalance of power when the person who is paying for sex has the power to arrest, detain or deport the sx worker. The law has failed, yet again, to deter purchasers and to put the balance of power back in favour of sx workers.

Here is a great post, written by an active sex worker, about why the Nordic Model of client criminalisation is failing sex workers. We have client criminalisation in Ireland and it has not reduced trafficking or exploitation but it has increased violence and stigma.

The acronym stands for “Inequalities, Interventions and the New Welfare State”. That summarizes what we do, study #inequality and develop #intervention s to tackle them in a context of different #welfarestate s, often in the context of #NordicModel and focusing on children, adolescents and young adults (no forgetting older folks either!)
