Gestern lief ich meinen ersten Indoor-OL anlässlich dem 2. Zürcher Indoor OL im Gebäude de ZHDK, Toni Areal.
Das war soooo geil.🤩 Such a thrill (43 Min. full speed few mistakes)

Angehängt die beiden Laufkarten (try it). Geile Bahnen über 8! Etagen und Karten nach dem aktuellen Draft der ISInOM (neue internationale Indoor Norm) durch Peter Grau und Janine Dünner von der OLG ZH.

Today I ran the second part of the green track on Gotska Sandön, Sweden, while checking the autogenerated map to make corrections also for #OpenStreetMap later on. The trail is.... *badumtss* epic.😁

To keep me from finetuning the autogenerated map any further, I send it to the printer, Media Perret (our 🇨🇭 o-maps Specialist) to print it as it is on Teslin. 5 sheets of A3. Scale 1:11K to fit. 2.5 m contours and 7.5° declination. What I plan is using the maps this summer, then finetune it a bit and then round the project up with a print on two sheets of #Tyvek 50x70cm

Contours in brown are positive, blue are negative landforms. Yellow areas are open land.

Here are the four base maps, I use to get my Sandön Map.
1) 2.5m Karttapullautin contours. 2.5 m, brown positive, purple negative.
2) Hill-shading of the surface
3) 2.5 m TPI contours (Topographical position index). Green positive, red negative.
4) 0.5 m raw contours. Blue if positive, orange for depressions. Every 2.5m a bit thicker.

The IOF MC published its meeting minutes today. There is a lot of interesting stuff going on. e.g. There will be an Indoor and a Trail O Specification but also a Map Walk with Timo Joensuu at the WOC 2025 in Finland.

It is becoming sort of a habit to spice up my holidays by creating my own orienteering maps of the areas I visit. This summer me and my younger daughter will go to #GotskaSandön , a Swedish National Park consisting in an Sandy Island of about 36 sqkm pretty far out in the Baltic Sea and covered with not much else than heather and pine.

Below you can see the first cast. This is the relief based on LiDAR provided by LM as open data which is processed with #karttapullautin.
