Streetartwall. On a long brown wall, at the top of a parking deck, there is a funny mural of a cartoon-style Santa Claus who is struggling with small problems. The fat, red Santa is flying over the wall trying to reach a gift package flying in the air in front of him. He has farted and the double wind backlash seems to have thrown him off course. Streetartwall. A large mural showing two young women facing each other was sprayed onto a rectangular brick wall on a roof. The mural shows a young woman with long blonde dreadlocks leaning her forehead against the forehead of a young woman of color with black dreadlocks. Both have their eyes closed. The background is a vibrant pink. A really nicely done mural with a beautiful message of friendship and great colors.

Oh no! Remember the months (years?) of disruption on Crystal Palace Park Road by Thameswater?

Well the roadworks are back with avengence. Yesterday temporary lights appeared between the junctions of Lawrie Park Road and Sydenham Avenue. Today we now have them under the railway bridges near the Telephone Exchange. Downhill queues were particulary bad this afternoon.

With the long term roadworks on Westwood Hill there is no escape from delays getting up or down the hill.

Bus routes 227, 176 & 197 are impacted

Streetartwall. A funny mural with a snail and an ice cream cone was sprayed on a beige-colored exterior wall between the roofs of a covered parking lot. The brown snail is standing next to an ice cream cone with white soft ice cream that has fallen to the ground. Falling to the floor upside down like this, the twisted ice cream and the ice cream cone above it could be mistaken for a very extravagant snail. The little red heart above the snail also seems to hint at an exciting love story.

A Metropolitan Police officer has been found guilty of gross misconduct after a woman and child were killed by a car during a police pursuit in south-east London.

PC Edward Welch had been pursuing a stolen car in Penge, south-east London, in August 2016 when it mounted the pavement and hit Makayah McDermott,10, and Rozanne Cooper, 34.

Penge West Coffee shop looking for support. Here is what they say:

We started the Coffee Trail in 2019 with the means to serve the local community who use the train station and tourists who visit local attractions like Crystal Palace Park and the Penge High Street.

I have lived in Penge and Sydenham for a combined 38 years and when I used to use the station it wasn't long before I had a few minutes to spare and realise there was absolutely no where to grab a quick coffee. I set up the coffee trail with my partner Zakia.

" There's a hole in my Thicket, dear liza, dear liza" - Not quite it's actually on Crystal Palace Park Road almost under the railway bridge. Some reports that it was a sinkhole but it has been mostly filled in just awaiting a top dressing. Hopefully be clear later today.

Meanwhile 227, 176 & 197 are on diversion down Newlands Park. Chaos reigns for motorists trying to find their way out of the closure. Ignoring 'No Entry' signs, red traffic lights or, at the other end shooting through residential roads at far more than 20 mph. Absolutely lethal and thoughtless.

It's the Wild (Penge) West out there!
