After all the Covid remote working, we started last year trying to rebuild that on--campus lab feeling by creating the CASL PhD Culture Club - a regular research and mentoring get-together. Our PhDs have now run with it and are building a Scotland-wide network for PhD students working on Phonetics. Super chuffed. There was a project on accent adaptation after mood induction, on people's ability to read emotions from masked faces, on the framing of questions and its impact on decision-making as well as this beauty on Scottish /ʉ/ (check out the title!):
