We ate at a really nice new restaurant housed inside a new upmarket hotel. Our friend spun a story about needing to house guests for an upcoming event. We got a tour.

New laptop means a journey down memory lane viewing old GoPro videos of my bike commute into the city from #Redfern playing back and 4 speed.

We lost Con the barber a decade or so ago, then the old tailor a few years later (I’m sorry I’ve forgotten his name already). Now Joe’s finishing up that only leaves Roger’s shoe repairs across the road. Kids these days don’t want to own their own shop and live in it until they can’t. It’s sad, the folks with their small shops make a community what it is. #redfern

Really enjoyed the #Stanmore Music Festival yesterday. Got to see an acquaintance's band (we just don't hang out that often anymore).

The Salisbury Hotel has changed significantly since I was last there, fo`r the better.

Then we just missed #Redfern Street Festival before heading back to Epping.

Out to see some jazz tonight in the city. Dropped in to an old haunt in #Redfern to have some beer and meet up with S.

At the age where I have to have a day off after a night out to recover.

Sadly, our time in beautiful #Brisbane has ended. Our #HomeExchange host kindly offered us a lift to the airport & soon we were back in #Sydney, now based in #Redfern. Our first day we took the light rail to Circular Quay & the ferry to #Manly. We walked the length of the beach, swam the sea pool, investigated a wormhole, then crossed the headland to #Freshwater beach. Multiple dips, another sea pool and a final #wildswim in Manly Cove as we awaited a return ferry. What a start! #Australia

Cafe Dreaming in #Redfern is lovely. Stopped in for a nice bacon and egg roll and flat white on the way to work, for $12. Happy to plug that mob-run place all day long.
