This part of the intro had been bothering me for a while.. Anna does not use a baseball bat, I drew it before I knew she’d (occasionally) use a sword. 😅 Cleaned things up, added a ton more detail. #gamedev #amiga #indiedev #pixaki #resprite

One thing that’s wild here… it feels like Princess Toadstool was an afterthought. The tiles for her sprite are scattered throughout the character data, like they had to find unused tiles to remove to squeeze her in last minute without changing anything else.

I did the Peach sprite thing. Notably, you can write this design over the character data in ROM, and it would work in the existing game. The bottom of her dress is mirrored horizontally to reuse a tile (the tileset is quite packed).
