For me it was Leigh Bardugo's first "Grishaverse" trilogy, the one that begins with Shadow and Bone. I had previously read the sequel, Six of Crows, and was excited to read more of that universe, so I went off to read the prequel.
I remember I had a trip to my aunt's house in the mountains. Because of the small size of the car, I had to ride in the trunk next to a gas can that stunk. Despite that, the winding road and the horrible nausea I got, I kept reading because I just couldn't stop.
In my Aunt's house I kept reading until late at night, with the cold of the mountain freezing me in the hammock where I slept. I really felt like a kid again.
In the end the trilogy didn't end as well rounded as I would have liked. It was disappointing, I won't deny it, but I found solace in re-reading Six of Crows and enjoyed it even more because of the context of the previous trilogy, so I'm still very fond of it.
Maybe I'll read it again one of these days...
