This project should never have moved forward once the BCNDP came into power. A great read, thanks Laila Yuile.

WorkSafeBC investigated suspicions that workers at the #SiteC dam were discouraged from reporting injuries, but in May cleared the project. Andrew MacLeod reports. #bcpoli

"Carney was the United Nations Special Envoy on Climate Action and Finance and was behind the UN-backed Net-Zero Banking Alliance, so some Canadians might have assumed he’d prioritize climate action if he won the election.

"Instead, Carney has described developing fossil fuel infrastructure as 'pragmatic.'"

Did #BC just flood the #PeaceValley to use #SiteC Dam power for LNG and an Bell/Grok AI data cluster?

Is this the start of US corporations drinking our water for memes of Will Smith eating spaghetti?

This is disturbing behaviour from our province. #BCNDP have clearly forgotten that they are on a razor’s edge and can be voted out easily.

Eby continues to embrace #LNG extraction in the wake of #TMX, #SiteC, #FairyCreek and now Elon’s #AI Data Centers will be drinking our water?

This #BCNDP is clearly no better than destructive #Conservatives, if they continue down this path they’ve lost my vote.

Trump is not an excuse to openly rape our Province for profit, #Eby is completely out of line and no different than #Horgan.

This major leak is at the dam, even if video is unlabelled. It shows leaks in a penstock (intake pipe) that brings water down from the reservoir & into the concrete powerhouse to feed a turbine. The concrete at bottom left is the "buttress" or large concrete structure that houses the turbines and powerhouse.

Recall: the buttress was sliding 1mm per day back in 2021 & had to be shored up $$$$. If this leak is caused by the buttress still settling, that extra $8 bn didn't work.

Who stands to gain from the massive Site C dam?
After nearly a decade of construction, the massive Site C dam is finally generating electricity. But the debate about the megaproject is far from over. While it’s meant to power thousands of homes and electric cars, what is the real cost and who stands to gain? Camille Vernet reports.

So offensive! After destroying homelands, sacred sites, stewarded for millennia, and a land that could have fed a million people, the proposal is to give this an Indigenous name. !!! thenarwhal.ca/site-c-dam-gets-

For a Canadian/BC perspective. 25GW capacity is approximately 25 times the capacity of the #SiteC dam.

Yes, I know solar is not 'base load’... but this is 25 TIMES larger, for near $0 cost to government and reduces costs over time for electricity for consumers.

It is bitterly ironic that in some enlightened parts of the world rivers (& salmon, & ecosystem) are being liberated of their dams. Here in BC, we’ve spent billions upon billions on damming the Peace River (the Site C boondoggle) for questionable benefits & at great loss of precious agricultural lands.

Where is our ‘effin #Novavax access #BCNDP? Adrian Dix promised my #immunocompromised #bced wife in the lead up to the election we would have access to Novavax. Why does this covid minimizing bcndp now fail to deliver on novavax and continue to stay silent on masking, long covid and covid awareness?

Was this just another of BCNDP false promises to garner votes, immediately cast aside by Bonnie Henry once you won?

What a completely pitiful government this BCNDP has been on Covid. Truly uninspiring, complacent to sickness and full of Bonnie Henry’s gaslighting.

Perhaps Eby and the rest of his bcndp are truly just full of bs, we already know Henry and Dix are.

Sure looks like Eby’s bcndp government has embraced gross negligence as their sole covid response. Nothing but a bunch of slimy Great Barrington crooks in suits. Sickening, pun intended.

Operations update: First generating unit comes into service on Site C | Site C sitecproject.com/first-generat “The first of six generating units on the #SiteC project has come into operation, following the required testing and commissioning process.

The remaining generating units will come into operation one-by-one. Each generating unit can provide more than 180 megawatts of power to #BCHydro customers. The Site C project remains on track to have all six generating units in service by fall 2025.”

The construction of a massive dam ruined the water quality for a small town of 900 people. Now they have to pay $5 million — more than $5,000 per person! — in order to avoid a permanent boil water advisory #bcpoli #sitec

#cbc how bad can your reporting get? Not a fan of #siteC but don’t blame this one solely on BCNDP! Who started the project? #BCLiberals and it was all ready several billions along in 2017. Difficult no-win decision that you didn’t report!

As a public funded broadcaster, you need to do better
