Plenty of things to complain about #generativeai and #programming, but I don't want to go back to a time before these tools were available. I've become addicted in no time. I delete and rewrite a lot of the generated code. But the utility and #productivity gains are undeniable.
But, no matter how great the tool, #humans still need to be #qualified, knowledgeable, & #skilled.
I can't fathom the #salaries that are being offered for #QA #automation work right now. How can people live here for those rates? This is a #skilled career. The #rate I was just quoted for a #contract -- a *contract* -- would be a 33% pay cut for me. And it's #hybrid, which means, I'd have to live nearby, not move to Kansas to save money. #hcol
