I don't know how old you are, but I remember being in school long before the internet. Yes, some aspects of life for kids were simpler, but the LGBTQ kids in my school stayed silent, thinking they were weird. Our curriculum was very biased, without challenge.
Florida has #BookBans that tell #LGBTQ & black kids that they should have a voice in life. #SocialMediaBans are just another way of isolating and silencing marginalized groups.
Besides, polls show that this young generation is leaning liberal. Silencing #SocialMedia is silencing any liberal ideas these kids could hear online, indoctrinating them into the #MAGAcult.
Aa I recall, LGBTQ movements & society's views on the topic made the biggest progress after social media took off, and connected folks on the internet.
Should kids spend less time online, and Big Data stop tracking & manipulating them? Heck yes.
Should we take away their internet completely? Heck no.
