Day 6 was generally spent on the Cooskie Creek Route through the #KingRange. One of the best reasons to get off the #beach and see more when #hiking the #LostCoastTrail.

Above Randall Creek on the Cooskie Creek Route. Ridges repeat off into the distance in ever lighter grey-blue colors. In the foreground, grassy hills have a line of Douglas fir. The next hill is also green with a large patch of trees to the left away from the ocean. After that are the vanishing ridges. All is under a blue sky.Cooskie Creek Route going north. A faint trail of greener grass is visible on the right as it crosses a grassy hill. Another grassy hill is behind that and a grassy cliff behind that. All have lines of Douglas fir trees cutting up the grass areas.Tolmie's pussy ears. This mariposa lily has three petals of purple with darker purple at the center. Long hairs cover the petals. Between the petals, the sepals are visible. Blue and purple stamen are visible at the center. There is a cluster of three, one still in bud, Grass grows up taller than the little flowers.North end of Cooskie Creek Route. Looking down a shrub covered hillside that drops steeply to the dark sand beach below. Waves wash the beach leaving a little sand visible. A line of wave comes in for more washing of the sand.

Day 5 meant facing up to more trail that hadn't been worked since a tough winter. I managed it, a bit of road walk, and unexpected dry camping that I was perfectly prepared for.

Inland from the King Crest Trail. Rolling hills with patches of light and dark green are topped with a thin layer of clouds below otherwise blue sky. The foreground contains tree tops, both leafy and dead.Seaside canyon from the King Crest Trail. Wispy clouds on the ridge tops on either side of the canyon reach down into its steep sides full of slides too steep for anything to grow. Less steep surfaces are topped with trees. Out the end of the canyon, the ocean is visible.Looking back along the King Range to King Peak. Peaks of green under a mostly blue sky.Now hiking on a grassy hill on Cooskie Creek Route, looking south along the King Range. Nearby, green grass has scattered Douglas firs. In the distance, hills are covered with the trees except for a grey spot of slide on Northslide Mountain.
