Sometimes it's very nice to carve a circle that is not a correct circle.
The sligthly squashed clementine is the
ideal shape in my opinion.

Another tool for #TourDeFleece : my oil pen! Push the button on top to release one drop of oil when the tiny valve opens.

It's a major upgrade for me mostly because it screws closed and I don't have to worry about it leaking and can toss it in a bag, but this particular one is a lot thicker than the original oil squeeze bottle so it's not quite as easy to fit into small spaces.

Terri is showing the oil pen in operation: push down on the button at the top and then at the very end of the tube, a section shaped like a small flat headed nail inside the tube pushes down out of the tube far enough for a drop of oil to collect. Releasing the button pulls it back, closing the valve and letting the drop fall.A closed oil pen sits on some maroon and white spinning fiber on my lap, which is covered in a grey floral skirt. My manual wooden wheel is in the background.

I've reached the part of #TourDeFleece where my photos start to look similar day to day, so time to show you some of my tools!

Today's tool is a yarn weight gauge from Katrinkles. I mostly use it to check on how thick I'm spinning, particularly if I'm spinning something other than my default weight!

Many people aim for consistent even spins, but I'm of the opinion that I can get that in a machine-spun yarn anytime, and I actually like a bit more texture. So sometimes I'm using this to make sure I'm *not* consistent in a hopefully pleasing way. 😅

Current Tour de Fleece progress: a bobbin of merino/bamboo in colourway "Winterberry" spun on a manual spinning wheel. The yarn goes from a dirty white to red with stripes of white to teal with white frosting. My Katrinkles yarn weight gauge, a hexagonal wooden tool with laser cut slots with different thicknesses and yarn weight names etched above each. My yarn single is lying in the "fingering" weight groove.
