@sortius ever since #theVoice loss debacle, this is exactly how i have felt towards many parts of straya, but most of all Qld, where every flood, fire, cyclone et al fills me with barely a drop of sympathy & compassion any more, & instead usually a sense of overt vindictive karma.

In a similar vein i generally feel little but antipathy towards farmers who are actively fighting against wind turbines & transmission infrastructure, as i recollect the decades they spent opposing climate change measures when supporting the liebs & nuts against the labs & greens.

now it seems i need to further expand my list of strayans that i despise.

Richard Deniss makes a mockery of govt housing policies for very good reasons. The whole ‘invest in property’ story is a ponzie scheme created to allow for an ever decreasing social housing budget. A Howard era creation which defies economic logic but ensured security for #landlordism and #PropertyInvestors and eased pressure on Federal, States & Territories budget. There is nothing in this but ‘smoke and mirrors’ and nary a though for those in our society who cannot afford to buy or rent.

And we now have a golden opportunity to scap the farcical rorts and start again but the #labor govt is too wrapped up in neoliberal economic thinking and has shifted away from it Aussie battler roots to even tinker at the edges. Freeking hopeless, the lot of them.
