Storm Brewing

Tunnel View. This has to be my favorite view of nature in all the world. This is located on State Highway 41 and is one of the first views that most visitors to the park will see of Yosemite Valley.
On the right in this image is Bridalveil Falls. Bridalveil Falls is one of the most prominent waterfalls in the park and typically flows year long except during dry years.

Storm Brewing

This is an image of Yosemite Valley captured at the Tunnel View parking lot as a winter storm was moving through the valley.
There is a heavy fog deep in the valley blocking out all but the closer features of the park
On the left is the base of El Capitan. All but the bottom is covered in fog.
On the right is Bridalveil Falls. Above the falls are some snow covered peaks.
Down in the valley you can see the tops of some of the taller trees sticking out above the fog.

Oooo - something is coming. Such a dark & moody sky, my pjs are becoming an awfully snuggly & warm thought right now 😅. #StormBrewing

Above the roofs & fenceline at the back of my garden is the dark grey cloud of a storm coming, fading to lighter grey. The eucalyptus tree at the end of my street can be seen above one roof in the right corner.

Storm Brewing

The Tunnel View parking lot is one of my favorite places to view Yosemite Valley from. The view is amazing and in the winter can change quickly.
In this image a Storm is building. Bridalveil Falls can be seen off to the right but most all other features in the valley are being covered low fog or higher clouds. Storm Brewing

This is an image of Yosemite Valley captured from the Tunnel View parking lot.
The foreground of the image is the floor of Yosemite Valley. The floor is mostly covered in fog with some tree tops rising above it.
To the left is El Capitan. Again most of this iconic rock formation is mostly covered in a cloud with just the middle showing.
To the right is Bridalveil Falls. The waterfall drops into the fog covered valley.
The background is completely fogged in.

That cyclone doesn't hit till next week they're saying? We were only a degree or so off first frost here last night. Been a while since we lit the fire before bed, we've only pinecones ready though. I know we're not technically in autumn yet, but where I'm from, the seasons changed 10 days ago and it certainly feels like summer is coming to an end. Something in my squirrelbrain has just activated and Im suddenly aware of our need to scurry into action to prepare for winter
#clouds #StormBrewing

The top three quarters is clouds and
patchy blue sky. A dark, threatening, heavy cloud is sweeping in over the top quarter of the pic. Beyond it, are fluffy, white, cumulus (i think?) Clouds, shining thickly round the edges. Towards the bottom, there's a clear horizontal line of blue sky, a jagged outline of Ka Tiritiri o te Moana mountain range in darker grey blue purple line. In the foreground, sloping down from the left is a burnt orange hill leading to burnt orange plains.
The very bottom you can see farmy wire fence.
