This is Boudicca, an African spurred #tortoise who loves cherry tomatoes. She was malnourished before being rescued, which caused the unusual pyramidal development of her shell. She now lives happily in a university #greenhouse where she is well cared for and free to roam from biome to biome.

A different take on #TortoiseTuesday today. Bella shows me a lot of tortoise-related tiktok and instagram posts, and the cute side of these guys are well documented. I'm guilty of posting only the fun moments myself.

They are a lot of work, too. Marky came to us with a pinworm infection. Various parasites are common in little guys like this when coming from a breeder. He'll be on a bi-monthly dosage of panacur for the next eight weeks.

We had our monthly weigh-ins a couple of mornings ago. In the order the photos are posted, we have Dee Dee at 89 grams, Joey at 81 grams, and the new guy Marky comes in at 38 grams for his first official weigh-in.
