Starfleet Academy isn't necessarily the best Trek. The new setting post-Burn feels small and bleak, much of the sci-fi has an emphasis on seeming like magic rather than science, and the sense of discovery and wonder is entirely absent.

But gosh, it's fantastic storytelling. I thought it a bit blunt at first, feeling like Galaxy High, but things got better fast. The latest episode was absolutely wonderful.

Plus the chuds all hate it.

#StarfleetAcademy is the best #Trek since Lower Decks and Prodigy. I really enjoy it so far (minus the first 3 exposition episodes).

The hate online is pathetic, people trashing this show over pronunciation and canon reinterpretation. I wonder if these people ever considered that a lot of #Trekkies today don’t just not give a shit about their canon bible-quoting bullshit, but haven’t even watched the original series.
I’d bet we’re now in a phase where younger Trekkies aren’t even watching TNG because it’s too dated. And then these same people, often in their 50s, tear apart this Young Adult series for being “unrelatable”. In my opinion, they’re stuck in a nostalgia loop, which, I love too, but they need to let younger fans move on and focus on the core values of Trek. And with the Ellisons now owning the franchise we should be glad to have such an inclusive and queer positive show, I'm not sure it will stay that way.

Beginning to understand all the hate from certain self-professed #Trek fans.

The reason that they hate all the new shows is because the new shows are so, so, so much better than the old shows.
