I'm disappointed in the performance of a makeshift with my pull saws for ripping wood. Without a wedge and a clamp, there's not enough material to hold a workpiece.

Tried with a small piece that can turn on an axis: A board could be fastened in another place and that might help.

Still I wonder what low roman might have used to hold a board for ripping so that its thickness is halved?

Using a dog peg as a camera mount is probably not what the workbench designers intended, but I think it will work reasonably well.

The top of my workbench is shown, with one of the dog pegs inserted. My camera mount is clamped onto the peg, and my GoPro is attached to the other end of the mount, pointing down toward the workbench.

In the background you can see one of the walls of my shop. There are two shelf units shown (one black and one white) with stuff stacked on the shelves, as well as the water heater.

Despite being a homeowner for over 7 years and an avid DIYer (replumbed and rewired the entire house), I've somehow made it until now without an organized workbench. That recently ended with my latest project over the last two weekends - organizing most of my tools on a pegboard. It's a work in progress, but I can already tell it's going to make a huge difference. #workbenches #DadLife #DIY

As a woodworker, I make a pretty good guitar player.
