@seachanger @Mielke I will try some things when able in a few min. You guys are great. I had a Twitter acct for ~2 yrs before I could figure out how Twitter worked. “Nothing to see here” was my daily greeting. So you can see that I have a history of stumbling with these things that my son helpfully calls “intuitive”!🙄😳
@mivox 🤔Most likely I have no idea what I’m doing! 🤪Thanks for following!!
Tried to migrate accounts. Says new account is simultaneously operational AND pending. Tried to forward but it can’t find my new account or approve my password and I can’t even tell which password it wants. This is exactly what I was dreading and here we are. All I succeeded at is archiving my data. So I have no idea if it changed my old password or new. None work so I can’t see new account or forward. 😱
July 9. NOAA says “extremely rare to historic rainfall ... widespread flash flooding is expected.” Text for VT.

@AlaskaWx @Climatologist49 @pat_wx @extretemps I went to the CBC article from a couple days ago before the record, and to the travel pages for Norman Wells. What a beautiful place and how familiar the smoke coping is!
@Scatterseed @isposdef Makes you want to RUN out with the meds!! Just in case!
Fairbanks has now lost an hour of possible sunshine since Solstice. But there's still another two plus weeks until the stars briefly return to the 2am sky. Also, this wee was the peak of the annual average temperature curve, so you know what that means. Yes, I'm full of good news this weekend. #Summer2023 #akwx
@Climatologist49
Sea surface temperature departures from 1991-2020 average for the first week of July from the NOAA/PSL/ESRL high resolution data. Much below normal #sst in the western Chukchi Sea reflecting late persisting #SeaIce. Southern Gulf of Alaska remains cooler than average west and above normal east. Big west to east difference Bering Strait compared to Norton and Kotzebue Sounds. #akwx #Arctic #ClimateMonitoring #Oceanography
@Climatologist49
@Scatterseed @isposdef I am really happy it was approved!!
Scorching heat in the middle MacKenzie River valley in the Northwest Territories, #Canada Saturday afternoon. Through 4pm MDT high temperatures include:
34.6C Ft. Good Hope (98F)
34.2C Norman Wells (97F)
35.4C Tulita (96F)
#ntwx #ExtremeWeather #Summer2023
@Climatologist49 @extretemps @McYukon @evaholland
Normal Wells, NWT up to 37.1C (99F) as of 5pm MDT Saturday! I would guess that is the highest reliable temperature on record in #Canada north of 65ºN but perhaps @pat_wx or @extretemps know better. #ntwx #Arctic #ExtremeWeather #ClimateCrisis
@pat_wx @extretemps @Climatologist49
Not to lose track of the fact that not only is it super hot in the MacKenzie Valley but this is occurring with very low visibilities in wildfire smoke: as low as 1 mile at Norman Wells. 37C (99F) and chocking smoke: #Arctic #ClimateCrisis in one set of observations. @BakerRL75 @pvonhellermannn
Looks like Norman Wells, NWT, #Canada, At 65.3ºN latitude, the Saturday high temperature will be 37.9C (100F). With thick wildfire smoke all day. Record high temp for the Norman Wells airport at least 35.0C (95F) in July 1989. I'd say it's unbelievable, but of course it's another #ExtremeWeather event busting the bounds of #Climate reasonableness. #Arctic #ntwx #ClimateCrisis

Wrangell Airport: 82F (27.8C)
