"DHS, in partnership with the White House's Department of Governmental Efficiency (DOGE) team, has recently rolled out a series of upgrades to a network of federal databases to allow state and county election officials to quickly check the citizenship status of their entire voter lists — both U.S.-born and naturalized citizens — using data from the Social Security Administration as well as immigration databases.

Such integration has never existed before, and experts call it a sea change that inches the U.S. closer to having a roster of citizens — something the country has never embraced. A centralized national database of Americans' personal information has long been considered a third rail — especially to privacy advocates as well as political conservatives, who have traditionally opposed mass data consolidation by the federal government.

The reason Mike Johnson doesn’t give a fuck about his constituents losing healthcare is simple: he wants them to.

He is an agent of a fundamentalist religious movement that wants to tear down all social services by government so that they can then provide some half-assed version of those services as a way to control people. It’s just “abusive household” on an industrial scale.

When I was a youngster I lived a long ways from the biggest park in town. I could ride my green and gold stingray bike for two hours to get there.
It was worth the ride on days I had a coin in my pocket. I looked forward to wishing my hardest as I tossed the precious coin in the garden well.
I always wished for the same thing. I wanted my family to be more like the families of my friends. A place where the house was clean, meals were regular and no one hit anyone.
I hoped magic was real, and just in case, I was wishing.
It took a long time but eventually I ended up with the family I wished for. It took decades but I still have that family.
This morning when my haircut appointment was pushed out I had a half hour to fill. I drove to the park. I had no coins.
I did find a beautiful garden and was thankful for wishes already granted.
