It’s not about health. It’s not about crime. It’s about protecting the surveillance state and punishing people with disabilities.

Thankfully no one got arrested for masking, but the fact that an unidentified ICE agent hiding their entire face could legally detain you just for protecting your health is the height of fascism and eugenics.

When someone you're with claims that we are one of the richest countries in the world, show them this and remind them that yes we *are* one of the richest countries in the world, but not quite as rich as they might think when we use GDP per capita (a more reasonable ranking than merely nominal GDP).... does it matter?

Well in one sense, no; but it also might help us appreciate why we're not quite where we might hope to be economically....
