How is "PDF to Flipbook" even a class of application? I've got users who want to trade our IP for a pretty page turn animation on an HTML5 site.
Tech/normie content here. Stick with my annihilation.social alt for spicier stuff.

@mos_8502 Ah, so you want bare metal, that's the issue.
@mos_8502 Sorry - it's a little out of my wheelhouse, but what you described, less the actual X16 hardware, is exactly the kind of thing David Murray built the X16 for. It's retro-styled, designed for recreational programming, and extensively documented.
Now, whether or not it succeeds, or is suitable for purpose, is a different story. The only "missing" between your statement and the stated purpose of the X16 is someone having built a raspbian distro that automagically boots into the emulator.
If it's more than that, what am I missing?
@mos_8502 What not set up a Pi to boot directly into a Commander X16 emulator? https://snapcraft.io/install/x16emu/raspbian
@theorytoe Well done whoever authored that. I wonder if Lunduke was involved (he was the first one I saw publish the DNS research).
@oldroadside there's an amazing candy store there now, too.
Holy cow, what a bunch of #karens. https://www.malibal.com/features/dont-support-the-coreboot-project/
Nobody is obligated to work for anyone else; these clowns at #malibal seem super entitled. Yikes. #coreboot

Grass has been touched. Give me a light.
@staticnoisexyz Seriously. I just turned on the first episode on a lark and I'm hooked. Are the writing and sets perfect? No, but it's got so much personality that's missing from a lot of today's TV.
Hmmm... #StargateUniverse is basically just Space:1999. Same basic premise: small group of humans out of reach of Earth looking for a planet to call home, but with no control of where they're going or how long they're in range of a habitable planet.
The biggest difference is that the acting in Space:1999 is worlds better.
@blaaablaaaa your ideas fascinate me and I would like to subscribe to your newsletter.
Pixel 6 Pro crapped the bed again last night. If I stick it in the fridge I get about six seconds of backlight before it craps the bed. Apparently my self-hosted nextcloud, which I was relying on for photo backups, has been down for a while, too, so... yeah.
IT guys are the absolute worst at following their own advice.
Archie, the internet’s first search engine, is rescued and running: a copy of the source code for the FTP search engine was found at the University of Warsaw in Poland https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2024/05/archie-the-internets-first-search-engine-is-rescued-and-running/
It's been a minute since I posted on my #gemlog. gemini://gemini.greenleader.xyz/gemlog.gmi
