#CommanderX16

It's not very pretty but the 2nd revision TurboWave X1688 card design seems to work! I don't yet have my reflow oven so used a hot air station and the SMD parts were quite sketch. But it works! And with a 24MHz crystal (so UART runs at 1.5mbit)

Why has nobody made a laptop out of a #CommanderX16 motherboard yet?

Video and audio capture from my real #CommanderX16 with my #TurboWaveX1688 8-bit wavetable card using #TurboTracker. First almost respectable demosong using hard drawn waves, volume envelopes and noise.

Doing a bit maintenance on my 8 bit #CommanderX16 project. Can't do proper development since the emulator is still broken for GS mode.
But some cleanup is certainly possible. The new ca65 cfg files look much nicer.

I am kinda itching to do a bit more 8-bit development. But the #CommanderX16 GS support in version R49 of the emulator is still borked. There are fixes in the git repo. But can I be bothered to build the emulator myself? Probably not.

Took a break from programming to work on the 2nd PCB revision of the TW X1688. Used as much through-hole parts as I could which makes for an interesting look. Ultimately that was for better managing costs.

Makes me wonder why there isn't a native C compiler on the #CommanderX16 yet. (Unless there is?)

Or a self-hosted prog8 (won't happen).
