@Whiskeyomega đŸ€” I guess I’d choose the drier cold to avoid having to deal with driving and slipping in snow. But that’s a tough one!

Just watched Am I OK? and it’s now one of my all-time favorite lesbian movies, right next to Carol and Imagine Me & You. 💕
I loved it because it’s a beautiful lesbian story with the focus on strong friendship. Nothing overly complicated—just coming to terms with it, and getting on with a lovely life.
The aesthetics: pink and purple sunset skies, deep blue water, freedom to breathe deeply, chill beats, cool and comfy vibes—what it feels like to be 30.
Dakota Johnson’s subtle humor and portrayal of quirky autistic-coded traits was so relatable. Watching her accepting her sexuality and loving herself (and her bff) helped inspire me to accept my own AuDHD traits a little more. (I accepted my lesbian identity long ago, but it was still cute watching her realize why dating guys didn’t click.)
Highly recommend this light, uplifting, inspiring story—especially for lesbians who love Carol and Imagine Me & You and want another one to rewatch. 🌅

@inarticulatequilter I am not sorry I asked, these are amazing! Thank you so much for taking the time to share the links. These are some of the most creative and fun quilts I’ve ever seen. We are trekkies in this house, my wife is going to flip when I show her these. đŸ€©đŸ€©đŸ€©

Update - want to be positive but did not really care for the book. The mystery was never explained in the end, you’re just left with more questions.

@inarticulatequilter Have you made any other Star Trek quilts? I adore these!

When you have the autistic ability to spot patterns and connect dots, creating a big picture scenario, but you also have ADHD, RSD, and a fear of perception running interference and making it difficult to ever get these ideas into a coherent form for others to read and digest. I’ve learned there’s a hack for this- the executive dysfunction in your brain can be improved by leveraging AI as a tool to help mirror back your thoughts to you in an untangled way, and it can help you step by step in writing in YOUR OWN words so your ideas can reach others - a task which can otherwise seem impossible. #autism #adhd #audhd #aipositive #RSD

Full view of a Doctor Who-themed quilt. Appliqué letters spell out the word VWORP four times, starting with a very light blue top row and ending with a dark TARDIS blue in the bottom row, all on a white background. In the lightest VWORP, the O has been replaced by a spiky star; in the other three rows, the O is a pieced TARDIS Police Box. The overall intent is that the TARDIS is appearing, getting darker and darker until it "lands". A border of alternating light to dark blue squares, also on the white background, surrounds the quilt center.Full view of a Star Trek DS9-themed quilt. The quilt center is made up of 9 blocks, in 3 rows of 3. Each block is a raw edge appliqué stylized image of a main character, next to a symbol representing them, with their name vertically to the right. Kira (an Orb) is in the center and clockwise from top left, the characters are SIsko (baseball), Odo (bucket), Dax (Tongo cards), O'Brien (Irish darts), Garak (spool of thread), Worf (bat'leth), Quark (gold pressed latinum) and Bashir (British darts). A wide outside border has the words Star Trek along the top to the right and with the words Deep Space Mine along the right to the top.Full view of a black and sickly green quilt featuring a pieced plague doctor surrounded by blocks that resemble COVID viruses. Each virus has a question embroidered on it, starting with Hast thou tried... and ending with a weird remedy, including leeches, laudanum, trepanation, goat testicles, crystals, laughter, lobotomy, magnets, herd immunity, bezoars.Full view of an appliqué quilt featuring quote-themed blocks from different geeky franchises all on a green background. The first column of quilts includes Make It Sew (TNG uniform), Don't Push the Button Fargo (button), I'm the Sewing Sestra (DNA strand from measuring tape), One Crafty Motherfracker (BSG font) and Sunnydale Home Ec Survivor (needles that look like vampire teeth). The second column includes Bite My Shiny Fabric Ass (Futurama's Bender), A Stitch in Time (Garak's thimble) and Rock Paper Scissors Lizard Spock (Fiskars scissors). The third column has appliqué letters laid out vertically reading SEW GEEKY. The last column includes Bigger on the Inside (TARDIS shaped sewing machine), I Sew Quilts and Quilt Accessories Arlen TX (gas flame with needle), My Quilt Guild Meets at Cafe Diem (coffee cup), My Seam Ripper is Sonic (sonic screwdriver) and Sew Say We All (cylon).

And it’s done, my first stylized painting after all those Bob Ross tutorials. I tried really hard to to focus on the quality of my brushstrokes and not to overwork this piece. My success in the regard is debatable.

@EllenInEdmonton I read Before We Were Yours also. It was so good but so sad and melancholy as well. Left me feeling a bit haunted but I’m glad I read it. What did you think?

Some things that made me happy the past two weeks - part 2

1. More mushrooms! (sulphur tuft)
2. Halloween garland I made a few years ago
3. Mini library
4. Colourful gourds
5. Gourds being sold along a country road
6. Afternoon walk in the forest
7. Beautiful afternoon light through a vase (photo doesn't do it justice)

Sulphur tuft mushrooms on a mossy branch on the forest floor.A garland hanging in front of a window through which some trees with yellow leaves are visible. The base of the garland is orange and made by finger crochet. Attached to it are white felt ghost shapes, black felt bat shapes and small orange pompons. It's pretty simple, but looks cute I think.A mini library on a country road next to someone's mailbox. It is white with dark green and stacked full of books. The lower shelf has mostly children's books.A close-up of a bunch of colourful gourds that are lying in a wooden crate with some straw. Most are yellow or orange, but there are also a few that are green or partially green. They are small and all have slightly different shapes. Some are rounder and others are more pear-shaped.

@doublesandal Yes! There were so many. If you stood in front of them and slowly stepped forward and back, it gave you the feeling of flying.
