@pathfinder I get that. It's kinda hard to artificially create such a thing though unfortunately.
I can tell myself all I want that I have a deadline for it, or that I will receive some sort of punishment for not doing it, or reward for completing it. But at the end of the day it's not really a real deadline, or I can just choose to not give myself a punishment.
I'm sure artificial deadlines and such can work for some people but for me it doesn't sadly.
As someone with #Autism and #ADHD, I find it incredibly difficult to start tasks. Even if I know I'll enjoy the task after I've started. But for some reason just the thought of starting it is #Anxiety inducing. I end up #Procrastinating all day and never get it done.
Anyone else have anything similar and/or know how to deal with it?
It's been so long since I've read #Manga I was reading it left-to-right for the first page. Needless to say I was a little confused.
Is there any way I can read a #Reddit post from a community that's gone private? I wanted some info on PaperMC performance vs Fabric (+ mods like Lithium), but r/admincraft is the only place I can really find anything about that.
@yelly I hear a lot of people use #Matrix. There's also #Revolt, #Guilded, #Element, and probably more.
I found something called #Spacebar a while ago which is apparently compatible with Discord, so you can still talk to people who haven't switched to something else. But I haven't looked at it too much yet.

@Fragglemuppet Does typing with proper capitalisation at the start of each sentence and proper nouns help the visually impaired? I usually just type all lowercase out of pure laziness...
@md ive made an account at lemmy.world and so far its fine. i just wish there was an option to hide posts. the way i would use reddit is just seeing a meme or reading a headline, maybe checking the comments, and then id hide the post. and hiding it was as simple as a swipe with the reddit sync app.
when i go to lemmy it feels like im seeing a lot of the same posts over and over.
tbh i still dont entirely understand what the fediverse is or how it works. i saw someone say you can use your mastodon account on lemmy or something, which is just mind-boggling to me
didnt realise how much i used #reddit until this lockdown thing. i keep opening the app, realising its a ghost town, and then closing it and forgetting - reopening it 20 seconds later. :FacePalm:
@lori i guess there's #slack but thats more business oriented. you could go back to / try #TeamSpeak or #Mumble.
my problem is everyone else is on #discord so its just too convenient to move from. however i did just find something called #spacebar which is apparently compatible with discord. sounds interesting, ill have to do more research on it
@pkemner ive never heard of it but just read the synopsis for the first series and it doesnt sound like my type of show.
im usually not a fan of long running series anyways tbh. even #monster was too long for me, and everyone says thats great. i just found it too slow.
only reason ive managed to get so far in #onepiece is thanks to fan edits like one pace and one piece kai, and even still its too slow for me a lot of the time.
am i the only person who thinks #onepiece is overhyped? currently 650+ episodes in and some of it's great but most of it's just okay.
i personally wouldn't recommend it to anyone, but i feel like i'm too deep into it to just drop it
