agile dude, reluctant architect, and frustrated developer combining people and bytes in the hope that it makes software better!

In #OOD we used to call everything a Manager or a Factory when the role was not clear. In the #cloudnative world we call everything an #api . :blob_cry:
That feeling you get when 25 years into your career you finally have a really good reason to use a #UML diagram and you remember what your teacher said so long ago: only describe what you know and make it readable by another human.
@axbom couldn't agree more
Biden: Forgets stuff.
Trump: Constantly lies and adoringly quotes Hitler. And forgets stuff.
Not a difficult choice.
No Shakespeare yet, but here's another copy of "Art of the Deal."
@lauren the original series blew my mind and made me realise how complex everything is.
I often feel like it was a completely revolutionary way of telling documentary narratives back then.... Yet so prevalent in the media today.
Nearly half a century ago, James Burke's groundbreaking series "Connections" came on the scene. The opening shot of the first episode is at night at the World Trade Center, lending a power when viewed now that he couldn't possibly have imagined back in the day. His perfectly timed introduction to a Saturn V (correction: Saturn IV) launch (hard to do retakes on that baby!) is still well remembered today.
He has revived the series since then over the years, and a new version has just begun streaming again!
This is most welcome news indeed. But hopefully he won't be wearing that damned leisure suit from the first series on this one.
@asteroidrainfall I think it depends what versioning is for, in your environment. If you use semantic versioning then it should be done when you are also releasing it to your users. Otherwise it's just a proxy for a merge commit on git.
@changelog @jsparty the fact that people are freaking about this shows how much of a cargo cult #webdevelopment so often is. There's too much stuff in TS trying to cover every possible corner case. I am a fan of TS but have no issues with using it only a little bit. It's not a real compiled and typed language. People just don't get this.
Omg even the paragraph is not really a paragraph.

who cares about prison time, my worst nightmare is my shitty commit messages making it into the court record
I made a post on why I'm pretty stoked about Lit, check it out: "Framework Interoperable Component Libraries Using Lit Web Components." https://dev.to/reggi/framework-interoperable-component-libraries-using-lit-web-components-43ac

@bitbear not surprised! I worked a couple of time with React(not Next) and can only agree with the notion of accidental complexity!
I wonder how many #softwareengineer people like myself were massively influenced by this show to wonder and dream about computers. I played the very first MS flight simulator and remember #programming drawing with vector graphics!

I can't wait for this new thing on #iPhone15.... I think they call it a Yuhessbeesee connector ... or something like that!
@tanepiper there's FHIR now! My hot take is that it's not great but it's the sharpest knife in the drawer.
