@number6 Sure, but I didn't *have* to report nearly so many errors – nor such blatant ones – before they started firing their human workers. So, besides replacing people with faulty AI (causing more errors), they're also making users do the work of cut staff (to fix those errors).
If it were a free or nonprofit app, I wouldn't find this so gross... but it's such a transparent way to cut costs by making the experience worse.
Note: #Duolingo had already lost much of my trust when they added AI that made basic mistakes *and* started blatantly putting the QA work onto their customers – relying on us to report errors with languages we, of course, don't speak natively!
I studied Russian intensively in college (and Spanish and Mandarin – calm down) and I don't think the AI truly distinguishes "е" & "ё", which is a serious issue I didn't see before the bot stuff rolled out. Here's a vid where the voice reads it wrong.

As a better #Duolingo alternative, I've managed to get IG to feed me reels with international stand-up & nerdy content, and it rocks!! Real people, using current slang, in different accents, posting interesting & informative material from different countries. I know IG has its own issues, but if you watch short vids anywhere, I really recommend tuning your algo for this. 🤩✨
Also be beefing up my music playlists and finding more movies to watch (feel free to share recs ^_^ )

Previous AI moves, plus recent aggressive upselling and activation tactics (pushing you to "nudge" friends) already degraded the experience. FYI: I'm a bit of a weenie, and FREAKY TALES has some suspense (but not too much) and quite a bit of gore (but it's mostly cartoonish/camp, and otherwise mild or offscreen). Along the lines of Shaun of the Dead, rather than Inglorious Basterds. I also love Kung Fu Hustle and Attack the Block, that kind of thing.
Saw it twice, and the second time I didn't have to hide behind my hands at all 😅
Dang, FREAKY TALES is such a fun movie, and I'm amazed it's gotten so little attention! Hilarious, gorgeous, action-packed, & emotionally rich, with Pedro Pascal & tons of cool cameos. Plus everybody vs. skinheads. Immensely gratifying. Too bad it's so hard to find!
