This Akademy I was awarded with an Akademy Award. It feels nice to get recognition for my work on KDE Frameworks 6 and Plasma 6
Hello, I'm Carl. I'm French-German and I currently live in Berlin. In my free time, I contribute to the KDE project where I (co-)maintain multiple applications: Tokodon, Merkuro, Arianna, NeoChat as well as the websites. Previously Nextcloud. Aside from coding, I like cycling, backing and playing board games.
Work at GnuPG.com, but opinions are mime and not the one from my employer

Probably the most productive bof of #akademy2024 was the stickers bof. I even won the competition of the best decorated laptop 🎉🎉
Thanks @bluepupboi for organizing it!

Last day at #Akademy for me. Participated BoFs for design, kwin tiling and #fedora #KDE.
The day was wrapped up with a good dinner (im very full) with friends.
I will be writing blog post whenever i get home and get over the tiredness.
I was already glad to be part of KDE, but this solidified the happiness for me. Meetings like these are well worth it for the motivation and wellbeing of the community.
Hopefully next year i have less trouble with flight cancellations.
@aks Since you mentioned it: this week Calligra is the first KDE app (as far as I can recall) to pass all the requirements and be featured!
Today was my last day on #KDE #akademy , so here are some personal highlights regarding #kdepim
▶️ #akonadi resources in #rust are now closer to reality
▶️ Akonadi Resource for Outlook/Microsoft365 is being worked on (in Rust :rust_ferris: !!)
▶️ We have a dedicated EWS server for testing, expect bugfixes!
It was amazing being on Akademy again after 5 years and seeing all my KDE friends. Thanks everyone for a great Akademy and see you next year :ablobcatheartsqueeze:
#KDE Stack training happened this morning. Definitely more attendance than I expected.
I had the good surprise of Volker Hilsheimer (Qt Chief Maintainer) attending. He had a couple of nice insights to bring up... maybe that will even lead to me submitting something at QtWS again. We'll see.
Looks like it was appreciated. There might be room for expanding this maybe with other similar events... ideas abound.
And before me, in the same room Javier Cordero is talking about why you should use KDE Frameworks in your application.
In 40min in room 2 of Akademy, I will talk about KDE app ecosystem and what we can do to improve it.
#Akademy2024 starting with a small presentation about pragmatic understanding of Large Language Model from Prof. David Schlangen
