Es gibt unzählige wesentliche Baustellen an Schulen, wie die Belastung junger Menschen als auch Lehrkräfte, die unter einem überholten, starren System leiden. Dass die Smartphone-Debatte seit über 10 Jahren immer wieder ausgegraben wird und dominiert, ist ein mediales und politisches Armutszeugnis.

(1) #Datenschutz scheint beim #EAuto noch weniger zu interessieren als beim Smartphone. So kannte z.B. keine Person mit Hyundai EAuto - die wir irgendwie erreichen konnten - (egal ob gekauft oder geleast) deren Datenschutzbestimmungen. Selbst das Hyundai Autohaus war diesbezüglich überfordert (bei diesem wurde vor uns noch nie danach gefragt). Auch in der Fediverse #EAutoBubble werden oft ohne den kleinsten Hinweis Ladetarife empfohlen die nur mit zweifelhaften Apps zu buchen sind. Alternativen zu den Autofirmen-Apps sind noch schwerer zu finden...

Auch hier scheinen wir die Ausnahme zu sein und um dazugehörige Tröts leichter wieder zu finden, führen wir nun den #Hashtag #EAutoDaten ein.

Die bisherigen Tröts sind nun bereits nach-verschlagwortet.

Dort finden sich nun bereits #Datenschutzprobleme, praktische #Ladetarife die ohne spezielle App gebucht werden können und hilfreiche freie #FLOSS Software wie #EVMap mit eigenen Filtern.

@burnitdown @mawhrin 1993 or thereabouts; I wrote my own X11 driver for a weird graphics card that I had been given along with a 19" B/W monitor, twm as the window manager, and a lot of xterms... I also used SGIs at the time, which had a pretty polished UI, although the applications (CAD and stuff) were all doing their own UI concepts -- and that's surely where KDE and gnome brought a lot of consistency into the open source world.

@burnitdown @mawhrin How do I put this politely? That's absolutely false, of course stuff worked before those came along, young whippersnapper. Some of it (with CDE, f'rex) even had UI consistency, but most of the "classic" stuff was pretty inconsistent.

@helge @mawhrin @slyecho As is the mouse thing, if you had the cash for a Sun or SGI workstation, that too worked out of the box.

@mawhrin I'm not really nostalgic about it, but I used it in the '90s and it was quite usable, assuming you only needed latin-1 characters, and performance was OK given the general performance level of the day -- after all, companies were using centralized servers and X terminals in production...

Need some #Homeassistant help... Tried for the past 3 hours to integrate the #AnkerSolix3 into the Energy Dashboard. But the Battery Part doesn't work for me.

Does anybody on here have managed to integrate it? As far as I saw it should be two template sensors generating readings for total charge- and discharge power and two Integration Sensors converting the aforementioned to kWh. Got all of that but the latter entities just show up as unavailable. Please boost for broader reach.

I genuinely do not understand people who have deep fried opinions about Signal needing a goddamn phone number in 2025.

Many privacy nerds were outraged when you needed to give out a phone number to other people in order to talk with them. I was one of those nerds. They fixed that with the usernames rollout.

As a mobile phone app, Signal uses your phone number to bootstrap your enrollment into the protocol. This is literally the path of least resistance as an SMS replacement app, for most users.

If you want to know whether Signal can obtain enough metadata to target users that have enrolled, the answer is complicated.

The way profiles are encrypted, and how sealed sender works, makes any targeting seem infeasible. (Your profile key rotates, at mininum, when you block someone.)

Signal currently does not have IP addresses, etc. stored. If this changes in the future, it will not be retroactive. If you're worried about that, Molly boasts Tor support. Maybe that's fine. I haven't audited Molly, and won't.
