Few years back I started using Jira for managing my personal tasks (lab, life, reading etc.). Recently the promotional/growth hacking from the app was a bit too much for me, e.g. if you don't sign-in by X date, your account will be deleted.

Yesterday I moved to <xit.jotaen.net/>, an open, text only format to track tasks. It feels fresh to be able to use Neovim for triaging, filtering etc. It's part of my journal now.

And one less web service that threatens me to login every X days ;)

Discovered this weekend: docs.searxng.org/. So happy and proud to add this to my collection! It's seamless to add as a default to too. Amazing work by the contributors ❤️

If you're looking to try out a meta internet search engine, pick one at searx.space/, or .

I'm off to do some connecting this with llama 3.2 3B. Coming soon in github.com/codito/arey 🚀

If you're using AI for coding or prose in Neovim, don't forget to try out <github.com/olimorris/codecompa> and <github.com/milanglacier/minuet>!

Both work seamlessly with local models using OpenAI compatible API, e.g., `llama-server` from llama.cpp <3

Thanks to Unsloth AI, Huggingface and Kaggle (generous free GPU tier), finetuning open-weights models is much simpler. Here's an attempt to finetune Gemma 2 2B on a function calling dataset: github.com/codito/gemma-2-ft/b

...if you are the "human" trying to review and correct all the drafts to get value, I wish you all the luck :D

If we say we now need and to navigate the complex world, shouldn't we also question _what made this world complex_?

If you need an to track the 1hr meetings, who'd track the TODOs created by the ? Yep, more agents to research on these TODOs, and some more to review and correct them. And so on..

We will soon be talking about fixing problems created by too many :P (as someone told me recently, almost all emails now seem to be written in _llmish_ dialect)

New post: notes from 3 papers: codito.in/notes/software-agent - OpenDevin, Autogen and Agentless. We learn about the generalist developer, solving problems through multiple agents and finally the triumph of agentless :)

Pondering over by evaparish.com/blog/how-i-edit (~2019). A good read.

"Repeat yourself" is a nice reminder that we're writing for humans with short attention spans.

By default every experience revolves around the Object(s) of experience. And thus the dance of Samsara begins.

Wondering if reversing the flow, or making it emphasize the presence of the Subject will make the practice of philosophy immersive and practical!

A big shout out to Rnote (rnote.flxzt.net/) for the best FOSS tool out there! Been using it for a day, and already in love <3

My background is (partially) in dialogue systems and human/robot interaction, and yet I’m increasingly convinced that the future of all of this is features and machines, and not chatbots and (humanoid) robots.

A “summarise” drop down item in your email client / a pizza machine with buttons that makes fresh pizza, not an insane oracle / an inane Pepper robot.

Just playing a round of blind chess with Gemma 2 9b it. First 10 moves on Sicilian Defense was perfect, taking care of board structure and a live commentary. 11th move placed a piece on an already occupied square, prompt corrected and moves on :D

This is the Q_4_K_L gguf from huggingface.co/bartowski/gemma running locally.

Genuinely impressed!

New post: codito.in/problems-or-solution

We discuss a super tool for collaboration - thinking in solutions than just throwing the problem across to someone. We take inspiration from a rule of thumb in improvisation comedy called "Yes, and ..." to foster better brainstorming.

New post: codito.in/frontend-refactoring

We talk about some lessons for a beginner developer like dependencies, hoisting, shipping source or bundle, using linters to guide a clean architecture and so on.
