Hello
I am just a tired weird person. Neurodivergent. In my 40s
@minego I have similar dental stuff coming up in 2-3 weeks and I am nooooooot looking forward to actually experiencing it.
@Jason Yeah, Cinnamon was annoying me 😸
I just tried out KDE and XFCE live Debians, and am pretty sure I'm gonna go with XFCE. It's fairly lightweight and I just like how it feels
@Jason I'm preparing to switch from Mint to Debian, myself, partly because I've grown to dislike to feel of Gnome(-based DEs), but also for the same reason you switched.
@trixter Is there any chance the character limit could be increased here on the good ol' Retro.Pizza?
XFCE has its own goofinesses, but they don't cause me nearly the friction that Gnome and KDE do.
It's gonna be a bit before I can start changing over to Debian with XFCE, since I have to move the contents of a number of partitions around (I have limited storage devices and even more limited funds to buy more), and this is on my one actual computer, so I have to prepare to be without it for a bit, then I have to get the new install set up, and I'm already very tired just thinking about it.
I've now briefly tested out a live-disc of each. I'd forgotten just how idiosyncratic KDE is. It feels almost like a different OS to me.
So far, XFCE feels most like how I want a computer to feel. Part of which is the ability to put the panel/taskbar vertically on a side. And I see they've fixed the thing where if you put the taskbar on the side, it was literally just rotated 90 degrees, text and all. Now you can pick between that behavior or having the buttons and stuff stay horizontal
The most important thing is the thing most easily forgotten
@erosdiscordia @elight @actuallyautistic "You could go so far, if you'd just do your homework." (From teachers, parents, and even peers.)
Thanks, I'll just stop being forgetful and distractible and having trouble staying on task. What was I thinking!?

@PaulCzege oh, I absolutely understand him not being top 4 in a tarot poll
The sigil was drawn in salt and ash, the candles lit at the pentagram points, the incantation declaimed.
There was a shimmer - a demon appeared.
"Curious. What ritual is this?"
"I got it from ChatGPT. I included all protections in my prompt!"
"I see," the demon said and stepped out of the sigil.

How about a #tarot poll?
You get the opportunity to go back in time and meet and talk with someone. Who do you choose?
