🔍 Tech Tip Thursday

If you inherit a server, do this first:
- List running services
- Identify owners (or admit there aren’t any)
- Document before touching anything

Future you will be grateful.

One thing I’m learning this season:

You don’t need to sprint every week to move forward.
Consistency beats urgency. Calm beats burnout.

Weeks like this remind me:

- You don’t need a big launch every week to be moving forward.
- New role. New home on Monday. New routines settling in.
- Grateful — and ready for what’s next.

Quick self-audit you can do in under 15 minutes:

- List running services
- Ask: “Do I still need this?”
- Disable or document anything you forgot existed

Less running = less risk.

Some weeks are about shipping.
Some weeks are about learning.
Some weeks are about catching your breath.

This one’s a bit of all three, and that’s okay. Progress doesn’t always look loud.

I've been enjoying sharing for . So, this felt appropriate!
Open source isn’t just software; it’s a community!

Shoutout to the meme lords who share their GIMP source files so the rest of us can remix with style. Community FTW.

Watching someone explain to a FOSS developer that they've never donated to their project "because it's FOSS" and that, unless the developer implements features X, Y, and Z *immediately*, they will continue not to donate in the future.

Yeah, really convincing.

And this is part of why we can't always have nice things.
