There's a pretty nice ongoing #hardwarehacking project called the Evertop
"an ultra lower power, ultra long battery solar PC"

Runs off an ESP32 with an e-Ink display and has a solar panel on the back.
"Evertop is a portable PC that emulates an IBM XT with an 80186 processor and 1MB RAM. It can run DOS, Minix, and some other old 1980s operating systems."

Today some more OSHW work: an unreasonably large Raspberry Pi hat.
This is part of the Open Weed Locator project, which does open-source/low-cost green-on-brown and green-on-green weed detection, suitable for retrofit to existing broadacre spray systems. It allows the Pi to control 16x 2A outputs driving solenoids (or anything else) and it's designed to be robust, self-documenting and repairable in the field.
Still a few checks to do but looking good for an initial prototype order over the weekend.

i'm very happy to say we officially secured a second @nlnet grant this year, this one is for the development of "MNT Reform Touch", which is currently planned as a 7-inch modular, upgradable OSHW tablet powered by a Qualcomm SoC (probably QCS6490 initially, but will have compat to other MNT Reform series CPU modules). more in the next weeks/months.
I finished assembling the TriacControl https://www.github.com/profdc9/TriacControl speed controller, which phase controls a universal motor based on an analog or PWM signal. It is to control the router spindle speed for a 2.5D CNC machine using the PWM output of a CNC controller. It could also be used with the PWM of a microcontroller, as the input can be configured for 3.3V-24V. The Flow Battery Research Collective (FBRC) are building an open source battery. Technology writer Koen Vervloesem did a nice write-up about their #FOSDEM talk in the Energy devroom. FBRC works on redox flow batteries which are better suited for long-term, stationary storage and less hazardous than Li-ion batteries. FBRC plan to democratize flow battery technology by developing an open source flow battery, starting with a development kit.
I published my touchpad board generator I wrote for the @mntmn Reform Touchpad.
It takes a diamond pattern dxf and turns them into polygon pours and fully routes them with net names etc. applied correctly for each row/column. Saves you several thousands of clicks vs fully manual approach.
Also contains a modified pattern generator from TI for OpenSCAD.
