@sammypanda Please check out the MNT Reform @mntmn its not 100% open but I think its just the cpu which makes sense, there are no off the shelf open cpus (theres open cpu architectures using risc v but theyre more proof of concept not practical)

"Some members of the maker community are distraught about Arduino’s new terms of service (ToS), saying that the added rules put the company’s open source DNA at risk.

Arduino updated its ToS and privacy policy this month, which is about a month after Qualcomm announced that it’s acquiring the open source hardware and software company. Among the most controversial changes is this addition:

'User shall not:

translate, decompile or reverse-engineer the Platform, or engage in any other activity designed to identify the algorithms and logic of the Platform’s operation, unless expressly allowed by Arduino or by applicable license agreements …'

In response to concerns from some members of the maker community, including from open source hardware distributor and manufacturer Adafruit, Arduino posted a blog on Friday."

To me the most ridiculous pattern of #OpenSourceHardware & #OpenSourceSoftware is that it's almost always just an open source version of the same, often rather awful design of products that exist & are on trend for the proprietary versions of said product. Generally it also is at least a little harder to use & more financially costly upfront but I wouldn't mind those 2 main problems if at least it offered diversity and in turn improvements as in real innovation over the general pricy garbage put out by #BigTech

I'm planning to bring #openautolab to #39c3 and try to bring some more attention to it (and to #analogfotografie in general). I will definitely develop film for people who want to see the machine in action (black-and-white for sure, color if enough people want it). I will also bring some bulk film to roll and a couple of cameras for interested people to try.
