TY :D
I hadn't come across that one. :D
I'm not sure myself.
Have to make an #OpenSience #oshw water-testing kit and start logging the local water quality... :D

I am not in need for a computer at the moment but I wanted to support @mntmn and their team a little, so I bought a hooded zipper [0] with a logo. It is cosy and looks nice. You can do the same to support open hardware projects.

A brief introduction to customizing palettes and the logo screen on the Open DMG Display using the provided Python scripts, featuring pre-generated palettes by TheWolfBunny64.
Really appreciate it, Patrick!

TuxCon2025 is May 10-11 and you are welcome to join. This is free to participate Open Source Hardware and Software conference in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. This year we have guest lector from @seeedstudio Violet Su , the very first retro computer IMKO-1 will be present by Anton Orush https://olimex.wordpress.com/2025/04/16/tuxcon-2025-the-open-source-hardware-and-software-conference-in-plovdiv-is-on-may-10-11th/ #oshw #tuxcon #imko-1 #pravetz82 #retro #computer #free #event #foss

Oh this looks like a very cool #oshw device, hadn't heard of it before

Superb to see the @DoESLiverpool community on a roll of @oshwassociation open hardware certifications 🎉
The last three UK OSHWA certifications are from three different members of the community:
https://certification.oshwa.org/uk000072 was Spoonbot by #STEAMEngineers @huffeec and @Snoof
https://certification.oshwa.org/uk000073 is @MCQN_Ltd's My Bike's Got LED
And https://certification.oshwa.org/uk000074 is the Mathpad by Magne Lauritzen
Ashtf's #OSHW EinkPDA has some really nice looking updates, glad to see this project continue to progress

Today some more OSHW work: an unreasonably large Raspberry Pi hat.
This is part of the Open Weed Locator project, which does open-source/low-cost green-on-brown and green-on-green weed detection, suitable for retrofit to existing broadacre spray systems. It allows the Pi to control 16x 2A outputs driving solenoids (or anything else) and it's designed to be robust, self-documenting and repairable in the field.
Still a few checks to do but looking good for an initial prototype order over the weekend.

OK, so we've got a pretty robust #OSHW ecosystem around producing #3D printers...
And there's lots of #grbl pen plotters and such...
But is there anybody working on open source paper printers? I guess I'm not terribly concerned about what technology a given example implements (i.e. direct impact, laser/toner, inkjet, thermal, whatever) but I'm mostly curious whether the space for this is just so saturated for so long with commodity printers that nobody's exploring this. I'm not even certain what problem might be solved by such a thing.
I guess on some level, the printed page is likely to *always* be the most-robust medium for #archives of knowledge and information, and also one of the most accessible, generally. Being able to produce printed pages from digital sources is so important that I guess I'm skeeved out that this seems to be mostly limited to appliances produced without the same benefits we see in OSHW.
This is how far I’ve gotten. Documentation is somewhat questionable, or rather not specific enough at certain points.
But my biggest problem is the software. Original software for the EggBot doesn’t seem to work with the EggDuino firmware, and the adapted plugins don’t work at all 😑

openheart is an #opensource and cheap multi-mod powered by a #raspberrypi pico for the #Sega #Genesis #MegaDrive that adds region switching, TMSS bypass and overclocking.
There's something of a @DoESLiverpool takeover of the @oshwassociation Show and Tell this month - I'm going to be on talking about @MCQN_Ltd's My Bike's Got LED boards and @huffeec and @Snoof will be repping their company STEAM Engineers too!
