But it was gone the last time I checked.

greetings from another recovering Apple fan.
Apple has lost it's way and alternatives have become very attractive over the years.
So now I'm using Debian on an Tuxedo laptop and /e/ OS on a Pixel 8a
Dear #Fediverse people,
Sometime ago someone shared a detailed (including tech) analysis on Telegram & reasons for not using it. Somehow I can't seem to find this back. If you know what I mean, would you please be so kind to share a link? Thanks!
@libreoffice markdown support sounds like a feature that would help a lot of people to bridge info between development environments and office environments. Great, I will definitely try this out ππ»

@th it seems a bit early for April fools ..... so they must be serious ..... AAARRRRGGGHHHHHH
@_elena @nlnet @joergi I really loved the video you did, these type of productions will really help the more general public understand what is at stake and what we are trying to achieve.
So please apply for something like this, you probably could come with great content to help the Fediverse and digital autonomy further.
During the Debian install on my Tuxedo Infinitybook I did run into one weird thing: no network interfaces were detected at first. So I plugged in an old USB ethernet dongle known to work with linux since forever. Reran the installer. It now detected TWO network cards, including the WIFI adapter build in. Chose that and it just worked. Weird.
The onboard RJ45 ethernet port needs an extra driver that I still need to set up, so that was expected.
This all happended with the 13.3 DVD image put on an USB stick.
After some successful tests of running Debian13 with a backport 6.17.x kernel on my Tuxedo desktop system, it was time to try this on the Tuxedo laptop too.
The Tuxedo Infinitybook has a keyboard issue which apparently should be fixed in the 6.17.x en newer kernels. Getting that installed on Zorin proved more involved then anticipated.
So I now installed Debian 13 and will see how this works over the next weeks.

Open source has always been political. Democracies worldwide are under great pressure. Now is the time to make the right decisions. #publictech #makeTechPolitical
Thanks to a small pointer from @jacobscharmberg I was able to factory reset my Pixel 8a to Android. This was enough to get the /e/ OS install procedure going after that.
