What's a decent way to add entries (particularly todos) to a Nextcloud CalDAV calendar *from the Linux shell*?

Without rewriting the whole todo list.

I can definitely live with a custom wrapper script, but in the end I want something where I can run something like…

$ add-todo --due=2067-12-31 "Launch Friendship One"

and have that show up in the to-do list of a particular calendar in my Nextcloud. No special features needed; due date and text will do.

Well… it’s finally happening. I’m building a #desktop computer! This new computer will serve as a #Linux based high-speed home server. I already have a mini PC from Beelink and we’ve been happy with it but it has a Celeron chip and limited memory and I/O. The new server will run file sharing and be the destination for automated backups of the computers in our house. Long term I’d like to get #NextCloud installed and running and use that as our primary “cloud”. More updates to follow #SelfHosting

I need #Nextcloud help. I'm trying to get local "AI" working and I'm not able to figure out why the ExApp containers aren't able to use the GPU. The error message in the log when I try to deploy them (with the AIO docker socket proxy/AppAPI configured for GPU) is:

If I change from GPU to CPU in AppAPI deployment works fine, but that's not what I want. I have however used those CPU-configured containers to verify that _yes_ - the hwdetection does see my GPU through the lspci method. The host also has fully working CUDA with Ollama running etc. I have some ideas that this might be because of different nvcc and cuda versions between containers and host but that really needs more debug output and installation checks if so.

A bit lost here tbh - it's the Context Search I'm specifically trying to get enabled.

Upgrading #debian underneath #nextcloud and #redmine has been tricky in past, but this time it was relatively easy.

I had redmine, nextcloud, apache and slapd running on this machine. Slapd didn't need any changes, apache only changing php-fpm version.

I had noting important in /usr/local/bin so I could just "chgrp redmine /usr/local/bin/ ; chmod g+w /usr/local/bin/" to let bundle create some scripts there.

Alternativ ein Cronjob auf Android, der alle 10 Minuten läuft und einen Erreichbarkeitscheck auf die IP meiner Nextcloud vorgeschaltet hat.
Falls erreichbar -> Inkrementeller rsync meines Camera-Verzeichnisses.

Mehr ist es im Grunde nicht.

Die Fotos sind sowieso spezifisch je Smartphone und es kommen nicht zwei gleiche Dateien auf mehreren Geräten vor.

Die Funktion "Sofort-Upload" in Nextcloud ist unbrauchbar.

Zum Hintergrund: Ich wurde mal von meinen Eltern gefragt (deren Google-Konten aus allen Nähten zu platzen drohten), ob es nicht eine andere Lösung gäbe, die Fotos vom Smartphone zu synchronisieren.

Gute Frage.

Der Sofort-Upload der Nextcloud-App auf Android kann bestimmte Ordner auf Änderungen überwachen und alle neuen Dateien automatisch auf die Nextcloud synchronisieren.

Klang gut, habe ich ausprobiert.

Erster Sync ok, alle weiteren ernüchternd:

Wenn ich auf Radtour Fotos gemacht habe und zurück in mein WLAN kam, fand kein Sync statt. Nextcloud App auf, immer noch nicht. Sync entfernt und wieder aktiviert - immer noch nicht.

Sowas läuft entweder vollautomatisch oder gar nicht.

Heut hab ich für einen älteren Freund #Dateiaustausch zwischen Desktop, Notebook, Tablet, Smartphone auf privaten & beruflichen Geräten per eMail Clients, EndezuEnde verschlüsselt eingerichtet, das Postfach beim Hoster ist verschlüsselt, die lokalen Datenträger auch. Windows & Android Geräte. Wir haben Alternativen ausprobiert, ihm war diese sehr angenehm, sofort verständlich und er muss sich nicht um Technik im Hintergrund kümmern.

Da ich an dieser Stelle mal #kdrive empfohlen hatte, hier die Korrektur:

Momentan setze ich auf #filen #filen_io und habe zweimal lifetime 100GB besorgt.

kdrive bietet nur eine AppImage Datei für Linux an, die unter Wayland Probleme macht. Jedenfalls arbeitet das System nicht. Der Support meinte nur "müsste gehen". Tja, sehr hilfreich.

Wichtigste Daten gehen gleichzeitig auch auf private Nextcloud.

kdrive habe ich Daten belassen, weil die mir mehrere TB zur Verfügung stellten ohne Abo. Werde es also als eine Art Archiv oder Lager weiterverwenden. Zum Synchronisieren taugt es aber gerade gar nichts.

Im currently working on a #Python project, it wouldn't be possible if I was struggling with #Windows /#Apple, marinated brain.

Ayer me puse a actualizar los sistemas y contenedores de mi #HomeServer con tan mala suerte que algo no salió bien con #NextCloud.
Para colmo, me tenía que ir por lo que no pude dejarlo solucionado.
Restauré la copia de backup antes de la actualización y lo dejé para hoy.
Finalmente, gracias a los comandos occ del propio NextCloud y al autoanálisis del sistema he podido recuperar el correcto funcionamiento.

Und auch dieses praktische kleine Feature kannte ich bislang nicht.

This fucking NextCloud app is responding with a "404" when the iPhone app is requesting authentication from the server.
This in turn triggers fail2ban's "apache-404" jail.

I hate it so much.
