The Pathfinder Coach

I work with people on their path back to a truer, happier and unashamed self - finding their power, authenticity and unique potential along the way.

Past the guilt, shame, cultural conditioning, toxic social conformity, unhelpful expectations and fear - there’s the real you, waiting to be rediscovered.

It’s insane to me that in a made up society, with made up rules, and made up Norms, we have to have big debates about made up Gender roles and which ones are the made up ones we agree with and which are the evil made up ones that are an affront to a made up ghost in the sky.

Nice intro to an incisive book. End of the year is a time for reflection, but it is ALWAYS a good time to re-examine your inner work camp. #burnout

@Xucaen it’s a fascinating story exercise to jot down everything you’re expected to do in a day to see how unrealistic it is:

8 hours = sleep
8 hours = work
2 hours = commute (average)
2 hours = preparing food
1 hour = chores
1 hours = exercise

Leaves you 2 hours left to recover, spend time with loved ones, prepare for tomorrow, just “be” without the need for productivity.

For those of us who dealt with childhood trauma, our inner child was the way we survived. It protected us and shielded us from the abuse as best it could. But as we get older, these protective reactions become less useful. When we start a dialogue with our inner child we give it the space to tell us what it needs to, to thank it for everything I helped us survive, and a platform to explain why we don't need its help anymore.

“It is not that we have so little time but that we lose so much. ... The life we receive is not short but we make it so; we are not ill provided but use what we have wastefully.”

So many people suffer unnecessarily because they were taught to be ashamed for how they feel.

We all get to choose the code we live by. The culmination of our values, our morals and how we believe the world should work. Our code is not a weapon to impose our will on others. It is a summary of what we believe life is about - encapsulated in our decisions and actions. It is our agency in the world. For better or ill, our code defines us.

We will run ourselves into the ground simply to win the imaginary award for busyness - then wear it as a badge of honour to justify our meaning in the world.

Mastodon is as much about standing *for* something as it is being against something. The world isn’t ever going to get better by giving more power to the few people who crave it above all else, or letting monopolies continue to control and manipulate us. It gets better through kindness, through distributing power, through listening, through choosing the little guys.

Burnout isn't always job specific and moving on won't necessarily help. If you struggle setting boundaries or seek validation through busyness you may need to address those first.

Can someone please explain the point of society if we aren’t even aiming to feed, house and care for everyone properly? Honestly, this doesn’t seem complicated.

There's a lot of talk about but I rarely see much about . It affects around 12% of the population and can be a crippling condition to deal with. As someone who was only diagnosed in my 20s it was incredibly hard to function at school and left its mark of shame, guilt and "less than"
