Today I learned that attempting to save changes to a brush in affinity designer on the iPad results in one of two things:

1. The whole app crashes without saving your changes.
2. It looks like it saved your changes, but it didn’t actually.

There aren’t a whole lot of pro quality Victor drawing apps on the iPad with good brush ecosystems

#Affinity Designer on the iPad just updated to v2.6.4 while i was in the middle of drawing and when it reopened all but two of my drawings were gone!

If you’re on an older version click “save a copy” on all your documents. Apparently deleting everything is something that has happened on all platforms and not just this release!!

Okey so what’s the take on the new Affinity “free” business model? I feel very suspicious of anything marketed as free in 2025…

I’d be happy to never pay for Canva and use Affinity for free so long as I’m NOT also training AI (I need to check the terms of use).

Penpot is quickly becoming a great Figma alternative but sadly most FOSS I’m aware of is not a suitable alternatives for the Adobe/Affinity suite of apps for print/page layout and photo manipulation… I just hope Apple doesn’t ruin Pixelmator.

Solved a mystery today. After creating beautiful JPG artwork in #Affinityphoto and #AffinityDesigner, I found that the images wouldn't upload to #Walgreen's for poster printing.

There was a post in a support forum about this, but #Affinity made all forums "Read Only" this month, and I couldn't post the fix.

(#Affinity *can* output JPGs in CYMK without you noticing, which is the problem. Make sure JPGs are specifically exported as RGB, or their compatibility can be compromised.)
