More people should be aware of how well #AffinityPhoto works in #Linux with #wine. People want to get off of #photoshop but don't want to use #gimp, well #affinity is a great alternative that is a one-time buy like classic #adobe software was. But everybody claims it only works on "#windows and MacOS". That's outdated thinking, windows programs are overwhelmingly #linux compatible these days, especially if they don't require a subscription/constant auth.

This is my city. Sergels Torg is generally considered THE centre of Stockholm.

To the left, one of the the entrances to the subway, station T-Centralen. The exit leads out to the plaza with it’s iconic triangle pattern. The tallest building is one of five pretty much identical buildings placed like dominoes in a line behind this one. The offices of the company I work for is located in the next one behind this.

The tall monument is largely made of glass and it can be lit up as needed. The base around it is a shallow pool of water with an array of decorative fountains. (It was empty when I took the reference photo.)

The tallest building is one of five pretty much identical buildings placed like dominoes in a line behind this one. The offices of the company I work for is located in the next one behind this.

Ur & Penn is a chain selling watches and jewlerey. They have been running this campaign for probably 30 years now – with clearance sales, going-out-of-business sales, and always “up to 70% off”. It has become a running joke at this point.

For this photo I used a blue filter on my XF55-200mm.
Two raw pictures which I stiched together in Affinity Photo with a bit of cropping. Then exported as 16bit TIF and processed in darktable - mainly the color swap and a bit of exposure correction.
The framing was done in Affinity Designer.

Taken on the Tempelhofer Feld - the old airfield in the heart of Berlin. The view is to the north, a bit to the east maybe.
You can see from the left: chimney of a (heating) power plant, a few tents of a circus, the Fernsehturm, a skyscraper I don't know the name of, the St. Johannes-Basilika near Südstern and an old airplane probably used for rescue trainings.

Bei meinen Eltern ist auch der CPU eine Generation zu alt für Windows 11. Neuer CPU kaufen macht da auch gleich null sinn. Zudem macht das Outlook auch nur noch Ärger...

Da ich zumindest auch auf meinen alten PC auch wechseln will. Gaming ist eh auf die Xbox ausgelagert (wird das einzige von MS übrig bleiben)

Bisher habe ich mich in Zorin OS und Elementary OS eingegrenzt.
Falls hier wer noch eine bessere Idee hat, gerne schreiben, soll auch schön aussehen und nicht für jeden Furtz eine Konsole brauch.

Office wird Only Office werden, was bereits schon teste.

Bitwarden wird der Passwortmanager.

Email wird wahrscheinlich Thunderbird. Wer hier was besseres kennt, einfach antworten.

Browser wird Vivaldi.

Dann wird der Teil für mich noch die Frage, was als Ersatz von Sticky Notes und One Note nehmen soll. Es soll auf allen Betriebssystemen funktionieren.
