I have a #SysAdmin question: is it okay to use a local, loopback-only SMTP server (#mailutils + #postfix) to allow a local web app to send mails directly? Without any login/passwd?
This works fine:
echo [boty] | mail -s [subject] [dest]
But I can’t make it work from my app (#ApacheAnswer), even though it does have an unauthenticated mode for SMTP. What am I missing?

Si jamais : j’ai un patch pour la locale FR ici, qui peut être utilisé pour corriger une install existante.

On va essayer de reverser ça upstream via leur instance #Crowdin, mais vu que la locale FR a été *validée* côté Apache (par qui ? comment ?!?), rien n’est sûr. Croisons les doigts.
Testing Apache Answer right now. The app seems okay, there are a few bizarre bugs… but the French locale is a complete mess.
I’ve been into internationalization and localization, and I’m 100 % sure the French locale has been generated by an IA.
Translation is hard. IA can do the job for a full text, but for text snippets in an app: DON’T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT. It won’t make any sense.
Apache Answer is close to unusable in French because of that.
