This morning, my vacuum cleaner began to work weirdly. After some tests, including bypassing the startup switch, the switch was making fake contacts.
One thing I want to add: old cable vacuums are much more easier to fix than a battery one.
Cable models are just a motor (a very strong motor), a capacitor, and a switch. Apart from the motor, which is the most expensive and hard work requiring component, both the switch and the capacitor are very easy to find and replace.
Battery models need electronics just to control the battery discharge. And if something in the board is blown, game over in most cases (not all) for your 400β¬ vacuum. Maybe it's just a capacitor, but this one is much smaller, and you might not be able to replace it with your hands.
Maybe it's the MCU the component that is fried, and then you really are done.
