Killing the Presidents: Presidential Assassinations and Assassination Attempts by Nicholas L. Vulich, 2016

Offers a fascinating look at the Presidents who lost their lives, the motives and mental states of the assassins, and the reactions of the public to the shootings.

Among the characters you will meet are: Charles Julius Guiteau, the man who shot James Garfield. He told authorities "I was in my bed ... and I was thinking over the political situation, and the idea flashed through my brain that if the President was out of the way everything would go better..." And later, during his trial, he added, "I presume I shall live to be President. Some people think I am as a good man as the President (Chester A. Arthur) now.
" John Schrank, the man who shot Theodore Roosevelt, said "In a dream I saw President McKinley sit up in his coffin pointing at a man in a monk's attire in whom I recognized Theodore Roosevelt. The dead President said-This is my murderer-avenge my death.
" And, so he shot, and wounded the Bull Moose Candidate. John Wilkes Booth, the assassin of President Lincoln, wrote in his diary just a few nights before his death, "I have to great a soul to die like a criminal..." The stories are amazing. The similarities between each of the assassinations make you sit up and think. Most of the assassins discovered the President's itinerary by reading the newspaper. Leon Czolgosz, the assassin of President McKinley, told authorities, "Eight days ago, while I was in Chicago, I read in a Chicago newspaper of President McKinley's visit to the Pan-American Exposition at Buffalo. That day I bought a ticket and got here with the determination to do something, but I did not know just what. I thought of shooting the President..."

The image depicts a poster or flyer featuring artwork. At the top, there is text that reads "BALTIMORE MUSEUM OF ART." Below this, on the left side of the poster, is a logo with a bird perched above what appears to be a stylized letter 'A'. The central and most prominent element of the image is an illustration of flowers in full bloom, with the word "FRASCONI" written across them. The flowers are rendered in various shades of blue, red, green, and yellow, and they occupy the majority of the poster's space. At the bottom, there's a date indicated: "FRANCIS F. MUIR, 1956-1983." In the lower right corner, there is a small text that says "November 27, 2015 - January 10, 2016," suggesting the dates of an exhibition or event related to this poster. In the bottom left corner, there are two small images: one is a barcode, and the other is a watermark with a stylized letter 'A'. The style of the image suggests it might be a museum advertisement or flyer, designed to promote an art exhibit or event.

The image is a poster for an exhibition at the Baltimore Museum of Art, featuring artwork by Frasconi from 1952-1963. The poster features a vibrant depiction of flowers in shades of reds and purples with hints of blue and yellow against a greenish-blue background that gives the impression of a frosted or smudged glass effect at the top, which may suggest depth or texture to the artwork being displayed.
At the top of the poster is text reading "BALTIMORE MUSEUM OF ART" in black uppercase letters. Below this title, centered on the image itself, are more stylized red and purple strokes representing flowers with stems that extend outward from a central greenish-blue circle filled with these colorful strokes, resembling an explosion or burst of floral imagery.
Below the visual artwork is text reading "FRASCONI 1952-1963" in black uppercase letters. Beneath this title, smaller black print indicates dates: "NOVEMBER 5-24 & NOVEMBER 18-DECEMBER," suggesting a span of several months for the exhibition.
A color palette is displayed at the bottom left corner with various colors corresponding to those used in the artwork on display. The poster's dimensions are mentioned as 56 x 46 cm, and there appears to be some additional text or signature below "FRASCONI," but it's not entirely clear due to resolution constraints.
The overall design is simple yet striking, with a focus on vibrant colors that catch the viewer’s attention.
