Did a roadtrip with my mobile #aprs digipeter ( #ftm500 #yaesu) today with my #uvpro monitoring with #aprsfi To my phone. Was about a 4.5 hour drive. Pretty interesting to see all the stations! Finally found the charger for my #btech #DMR 6x2 and got the firmware updated to v2.20!
Unfortunately, my backup #codeplug image included everything except the TG list, for some reason. The result is that every channel is now broken until I can reassemble the TG list exactly as it was before.
Question is, do I try to just rebuild the TG list to salvage the existing codeplug, or should I just start over entirely from scratch? The previous codeplug was based on one I got from another ham years ago and I kept modifying over time; I'm not sure if all the repeaters are up to date, anyway, and it's honestly a bit of a mess at this point... On the other hand, building a new code plug is such a massive time sink and I haven't used the #radio in over a year anyway, is it even with the effort?

I've owned a #BTech DMR6X2 for a number of years, but after moving to an area without any #DMR repeaters, it's spent most of its time sitting in a box. As a half-duplex radio, I don't think it's going to replace my D72 for #satellite ops, but I'll certainly have to give it a try once I get this update installed.

My call sign is K2OOI (Iβm a huge Stanley Kubrick fan) but itβs actually not what it looks like.
FCC regulations dictate that the last three characters in this format have to be exactly that β characters, not numbers.
So while it *looks* like 2001, itβs actually 2ooi. Or as they say in NATO phonetics:
Kilo Two Oscar Oscar India.

may find this intriguing. there is a #ham-bands version with a keypad and #APRS, too. you can unlock tx via backdoor.
here's some hax for the #Vero #VRN76 dual band HT with APRS (of all things) these also apply to the #BTECH GMRS app for the #GMRS_PRO
1. attach to your radio and go to settings and tap the "battery status" thing ten times until it says "enable factory test mode" or whatever, now you can TX on all bands
2. go to firmware update and when it says "there are no updates" tap that at least 10x and it will send you a newer firmware image

Last week I attended the launch of the #BTech project led by the UN. The project aims to centre human rights in discussions of digital tech business on the African continent. There is a lot of work that needs to be done beyond policy and stakeholder engagement.
I got a couple of these #BTECH #MURS radios for non-ham #comms, and realize the charger needs 10 volts. Seems to be happy enough with my USB converter and 9 volts so field charging is still painless βΊοΈ #preparedness

The #LokSabha passed a bill to enable IIITs to award degrees as issued by autonomous universities. 5 IIITs in PPP mode at #Surat, #Bhopal, #Bhagalpur, #Agartala, and #Raichur will now be able to use the nomenclature of #BTech or MTech or #PhD degree.
