Okay, mystery with #macOS 15 and later not supporting external legacy displays is revealed!
System settings just ignore subset of resolutions that worked in the past (you won't see that even if you check "all" resolutions) so you have to use a don^H^H^H^H application like this:

Just realized I did not have HiDPI enabled on BetterDisplay for my Ultrawide & Vertical monitors. What a difference! Jeez...
Momentary bound to use a "mobile" desktop and I must say that the #Apple #MacBookPro + #iPadAir 13" as #sidecar screen with #BetterDisplay setup is really nice.
Currently running #macOS on a 2704x1756 (#macBook ) + 2732x2048 (#iPad ) dual display setup.
This does not even require the paid version of #BetterDisplay.

The reason I have #BetterDisplay installed is that, bizarrely, #Apple’s TV app does not play content as true #HDR. So everything appears much darker than it should, despite the display being able to handle it. Better Display enables you to use the full brightness range for true HDR playback. 🤩 #MacBookPro #AppleTVPlus
I’ve been thinking for a while now that I could do with a slightly higher resolution on my #MacBookPro. Not as much as the ‘more space’ setting, which makes text too small, but just a little bit higher than normal. Turns out that #BetterDisplayPro, which I already had installed, can do this and even gives a smoothly sliding scale of resolutions between those officially supported by #macOS. I have confirmed that the 2013 13" MacBook Air (i7) does support 3840x1080 @ 50Hz under #OpenBSD, though not 60Hz.
Of course, #macOS on the M1 Mac mini _does not_ want to let me use a 3840x1080 _at all_! I've tried #BetterDisplay (https://github.com/waydabber/BetterDisplay) to no avail. Any other hacks these days?
