@bekz, not natively, but the mini app has excellent support and includes the tool, which can do that and much more.

Exciting hidden actions are being found* this weekend!

For example, this obtains the identifier of an action that you copy to the clipboard, which then can be used to detect if its app is installed in the device:

icloud.com/shortcuts/7562e6c15

It includes the newly found “Search Shortcuts action for…” action so you can copy and paste it in YOUR 🙂

(*) See reddit.com/r/shortcuts/comment

Credit to @gluebyte for the use of the identifier as a locale-independent search term

P.P.S. The command syntax above is for Windows (that's the reason for the "^" before "(" and ")". Omit them if you want to run it in macOS (or Linux or UNIX)

BTW, is available in the via @nholzschuch's mini app
apps.apple.com/app/id1543537943
so this can also be done in and using a 🙂

@hacksilon Hi. I’m curious: did you try using a “Repeat with each” action with your input?

Also, just in case it’s related, “Calculate” uses the system decimal delimiter (comma in Spain and Germany) but “Calculate expression” only works with a decimal point.

And yeah, it’s frustrating to see the potential of the ruined by so… many… bugs. 😥

There are noticeable differences between the symbols (glyphs) available in the depending on whether you’re using or 😬

Screenshot of the WinMerge app comparing two CSV files with symbol descriptions for the Shortcuts app in iOS and macOS. Differences are highlighted in yellow and orange. The macOS file has extra entries marked “;macOS only” such as Church, Flower, Wine Bottle, and Baby. Some lines also have extra notes, like "Person Ice Skating" described as "also Figure Ice Skating.” The order of sections differs too: for example, macOS places the “COMMERCE” section later. Both files share most entries, but the differences are significant and can cause confusion of users of both platforms. A side panel shows clusters of differences concentrated in the middle of the file.

@mitten Yep, nature of the beast 😁 Reminds me of when @atow gave us folders way before the team did. Indie devs are always ahead of the curve!

Sigh… the new style #iOS26 Shortcuts “choice menu” interface is enormous and yelling at me. I normally have my system text size set to 90%, yet my #ShortcutsApp “choose something” menus don't seem to pay attention to the system text size at all and are absolutely unnecessarily gigantic, now requiring scroll on some of them. #HopingThisIsABugThatWillBeFixed

I think I know everything to start a new project! 😅 I managed to create an intent that is shareable between apps, widgets, and is available for users from #ShortcutsApp. 😁

So I'm biting granite trying to create an #automation which will set / clear my @tailscale exit-node either based on my iPhone's current SSID/BSSID or alternatively when entering/exiting a geofence.

Tools at my disposal:
• Tailscale client on-device so anything Tailscale offers
• iOS #ShortcutsApp
@pushcut including Automation server
#HomeAssistant
• evil code witch skills (I know my way around system & server administration as well as app development and I'm comfortable in a terminal)

iOS Shortcut automations could in theory solve the problem but to protect their user's privacy Apple enforces a "Running your automation" banner-notification whenever an automation triggers on geofence / wifi connect/disconnect - I don't want that banner.

Pushcut can't run on-device actions without displaying a notification, though I'd be fine with a "unknown wifi, enable exit node?" popup.

HomeAssistant knows my phones SSID but it updates at a glacial frequency so that one is pretty much useless.

Tailscale on it's own has great ACLs and Grants as well as on-demand connection which would solve half of my issue but they don't support on-demand exit-nodes.

So none of the three above is able to solve the problem in a satisfying way and I'm at my knowledge's end here but up for suggestions. I'd even go as far as run my own MDM (again) if that would allow me to have the simple scenario of "always connected to tailscale, force automated use of an exit-node when connected to an unknown wifi".
