The first regular circulation 1 pound coin in #Egypt (there were several earlier commemoratives), was this #Bimetallic coin in 2005 (Islamic year 1426). With a brass centre in copper-nickel ring, it is non-magnetic where later issues are brass plated steel centre in nickel plated steel ring, and so magnetic.
